We offers an extensive selection of kitchen hobs from leading manufacturers to help you find the perfect model to suit your needs. Whether you are a fan of cooking on gas or electricity, we have a variety of different types available in a range of finishes and colours.
If you need to cook for a large family, rapid gas hobs are the perfect solution. We also offer LPG hobs, fueled by liquefied petroleum gas that has a much higher heating value, meaning that it can be more energy efficient.
Solid plate hobs are long-lasting, durable and offer great heat distribution for your pots and pans. Easy to clean and simple to use, browse our range of electric hobs today, from leading brands like Hotpoint and Indesit.
FAQ QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
What is an electric hob?
Sealed electric plate hobs work by a heating element being powered by electric. This element is covered by a solid metal plate. This style of hob is slower to heat up as the element heats the solid metal plate first, which in turn heats up the pan and contents above.
How long does an electric hob take to heat up?
When it comes to electric stoves, preheating is your best friend. It can take a long time for a burner to properly heat up—in my experience, up to 15 minutes! That's why you should preheat your burners while you're prepping your food.
Is it safe to use a cracked electric hob?
Cracked ceramic hobs are dangerous. Do not use a cracked ceramic hob! They work by transferring heat from an electrical circuit, through the ceramic, to the pan. There is a 220-volt circuit underneath the glass, and the only thing protecting the electrical circuit from exposure to moisture is that ceramic.
Can electric hobs be repaired?
Repairing your electric hob is very often more cost-effective than replacing it. So, what are you waiting for? Call on of our expert repairers today and we'll make your broken or faulty appliance as good as new.
What is the difference between electric and ceramic hobs?
Ceramic hobs are quicker to heat up than an electric hot plate but are often quite a bit slower than a gas or induction hob. If you are energy conscious, ceramic hobs are normally not the best choice as the entire cooking zone is heated.
How long should an electric hob last?
The average life of a standard kitchen cooker is about 15 years. That means that the range of 10 to 20 years for an induction hob is pretty generous indeed!
Are all electric hobs the same?
An electric hob comes in few different forms, solid plate and ceramic. A ceramic hob refers to the finish of the hob rather than the workings of the hob itself.
