How much space does a freestanding wine cooler need?

The cooling mechanism can't work properly unless it has the right amount of air space above, behind and on the sides. To allow for the necessary airflow, your wine cooler needs 2 inches of extra space in back, 4 inches on top and 1 inch on either side.

What is the difference between a freestanding and a built-in wine cooler?

A unit with front ventilation is considered a built-in unit, whereas a unit with side or rear ventilation requires sufficient space on the sides and rear for heat to dissipate, thus considered a freestanding refrigerator.

Can you put a freestanding wine cooler under a counter?

As freestanding models can be moved around - a question we always receive is “can I place my freestanding wine cooler under my kitchen counter? ' and the simple answer we reply with is no, they can't unfortunately. Freestanding wine coolers are built with a vent on the back of their model and need space to breathe.

Can you put a freestanding wine cooler in a closet?

Wine coolers are also flexible. You can add your wine cooler anywhere, whether it's in a dining room, hallway, or even your wine cellar closet. And, if it's a freestanding unit, you can move it as needed. You can even add your cooler to your closet cellar.

Why has my wine cooler stopped working?

If your wine cooler is not cooling, it may be due to a broken evaporator. This may be a result of ice build-up. This element also has a fan, which may become dirty or blocked. To fix the problem, clean up any debris around the fan or component itself.

Can you put a wine cooler in a pantry?

Whether a wine cooler can be built into a cabinet depends on the design of the cooler itself. If the vents are in the front of the unit to allow for proper circulation, then yes, it can be built into a cabinet. This is not the case if the venting is built into the back or sides of the unit.
